We currently have a need for daily Commercial General Adjusters (contract basis) in the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland.  The individuals in this role will be responsible for adjusting major and complex commercial primarily and residential losses in addition to standard losses.  Specific duties include: 



  • Investigates predominately commercial losses and property losses by interviewing the insured and examining the damage. 

  • Writing and preparing damage estimates to determine the fair value of losses within authority.   handle commercial predominantly and homeowner/property claims in assigned territory.

  • Making timely decisions by analyzing information gathered during investigation, appropriately analyzing coverage, determining liability and evaluating damages

  • Writing reports and submitting them in accordance with carrier’s SLAs (First Notice of Loss and Final Reports) along with payment recommendation to client

  • Interacting with insureds, brokers, and other claims professionals

  • Operating independently within authority limits

  • Delivering exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.


Required Qualifications :


  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.  Applicable active license in the state you will be working

  •  At least 7 years’ experience as a General Adjuster experienced with large loss and commercial claims. 

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to climb up to and on rooftops.

  • Ability to climb ladders to inspect roofing/structural damage.

  • Must own necessary equipment to inspect loss (ladder, measuring tools, etc.) 

  • Ability to identify damages and properly present this information in reports to client while logging and maintaining file notes per carrier guidelines

  • Ability to identify subrogation and salvage opportunities

  • Requires knowledge of coverages provided within various homeowner and commercial policies.

  • Capability of writing structural damage estimates of moderate to severe losses.

  • Ability to effectively and independently manage workload while exhibiting good judgment.

  • Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong experience in report writing and ability to complete reports within carrier’s SLAs.

  • Professional communication with policy holders, claim management and insurance company personnel.

  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.

  • Computer skills with the ability to work with multi-faceted systems and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in all aspects of Xactimate.  Must have Xactimate license (not company provided)

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
